ABOUT ME

Dionna Roberts is a fourth-grade teacher and former K-5 literacy coach. Prior to her role as an instructional coach, she taught fourth grade for 14 years. After three years of coaching, she decided to return to the classroom. Additionally, Dionna served as a part-time instructor in the Literacy Studies Department at Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo, MI. Here she offered her expertise and passion for literacy in the training and preparation of teacher candidates. Her course was focused on integrating literacy into content area teaching in grades K-8. She is a Detroit native, wife, and mom of three (well... four if you count her teacup Yorkie). Her passions include collecting children's books, creative writing, taking photos, making Apple iTunes playlists, doodling, and taking day trips with family and friends. Dionna is an advocate for literacy in her community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Read and Write Kalamazoo.
